Toilet training for apartments?
I have a maltese bichon cross puppy who’s about 11 weeks old and pees/poos all over my place. We tried placing newspapers on a designated area for her to do her business and sprayed some potty training spray to get her to do it there but instead she chews the newspapers up as she’s teething. What do I do?
train your pup to use an indoor potty area the same way you would train her to go outside. she will not just automatically go there because of the spray. Every time your dog eats, wakes up from a nap, or plays for a while, bring her to her potty spot. give her lots of praise and treats when she goes where she is supposed to. if she does not go, bring her back every 10-15 min. if she starts to go somewhere else don;t yell or hit, just pick her up and let her finish in the correct area. then give her praise and a treat. if she starts to chew on the newspaper, say no, pick her up and bring her to another area of the apartment and give her something that she is allowed to chew on. good luck and have fun with your new pup!
