The Shock Collar: Its Different Uses
A dog that misbehaves can be annoying, scary, or both to other people. If you receive constant complaints from your neighbors, friends, or relatives, you should do something about it. You really don’t want to wait until your dog gets you in legal problems because of the way it behaves. To help train your dog, you should get a shock collar. Don’t worry, the shock collar is not harmful or painful to your dog. Actually, what these collars use are small releases of static electricity to correct dogs, as opposed to regular electricity. The Electric Fence If your dog is restless and can’t seem to stay in one place without being tied up, you might want to get an electronic fence as an alternative. How does the electronic dog fence work? The electronic fence prevents your dog from crossing certain boundaries. To activate it, you have to make your dog wear a shock collar, set the fence around the area that your dog won’t be allowed to leave and then just leave your pet in the allowed area. After the system is on, if your dog tries to leave its designated area, the collar on its neck will deliver a small static electricity shock to the dog. The shocks will continue as long as your dog tries to cross the fence so your dog won’t be able to cross it. After your dog understands that it can’t go beyond certain limits and stays within the allocated area, you can remove the shock collar. The Anti Bark Collar The back collar is one of the most popular shock collars sold in the market today. This type of collar has a sensor that detects the movement of your dog’s throat when it barks. If your dog starts to bark, then the collar will correct it with a small static electricity discharge. The level of the shock might differ from one shock collar to another, and the strongest ones might make your dog yelp when it feels the shock. Don’t be alarmed if you hear that your dog yelps. Your dog won’t be hurt or injured or scarred for life just because it got a sudden small static shock, specially because a dog’s skin is thicker than a human’s. In addition, the jolt only lasts as long as the barking lasts. The Training Collar This is yet another type of shock collar, one that is activated by remote control. If your dog misbehaves, you simply press the button on the remote control to send a message to your dog that it is not behaving well.
