Disposable Diapers or Reusable Diapers for Puppies?

I’m traveling with my 5 months schnauzer for a 5 hours flight, and I was thinking to get some diapers for him. Should he use the disposable or the reusable ones? All I want is for him to feel comfortable and of course the diaper to be strong enough to hold his pee. Thanks!

He shouldn’t use a diaper at all.

Give him absorbent bedding in his crate, which the airline will require anyway, and that is your best option. Yes, he may eliminate on the flight. But a ‘clean’ dog will avoid his excrement in his crate and will likely bury the soiling in the bedding so he can stay clean.

I really do not like the diaper option for several reasons. If he is a clean dog, you are creating enormous distress by forcing him to wear his excrement for up to 5 hours or more. You can create skin irritations by making him wear his excrement against his body for that long. And he may well eat the diaper unsupervised for that long, which could create a veterinary emergency like an intestinal blockage, and who would be able to respond to that in a timely fashion?!.

Just use absorbent bedding and you’ll be fine.
