He sheds all the time you can come him and bring him in the house and he gets hair everywhere is there a supplement you can give him where his coat doesn’t fall out and looks glossy
A GOOD food can help a lot. If you’re feeding food that you pick up at the grocery store or Wal-Mart, that is probably contributing. I saw shedding cut in half in my Goldens when I switched to a better food. The best results I have seen have been on California Natural (they eat less of this food, too-it’s much more expensive per bag, but they eat less than half as much food-it’s actually cheaper to feed to my dogs than the stuff that they used to eat). My dogs coats were soft and shiny within a few months of switching foods-I am very happy with the results.
I use a Mars Coat King rake on my Goldens (#12) and am amazed at the results. Use it every 2-3 wees and their coats shed very little. Brush daily with a pin brush or comb with rotating teeth, and you’ll not have a shedding problem at all.
Linoleic acid is great for skin and coat. You can find that in a good dog food (Calif. Nat. has sunflower oil that provides this in the food). A good supplement for this is Allerderm Efa-Z Plus (made by Virbac). You may find that something available at PetCo works, too (Lambert Kay Shed Relief-I have tried it, it’s alright, but the food switch worked the best).
