What kind of supplies should I buy for my first salon job?
I just got a job at a very well known salon. I know that I need to buy my own color, but I’m having a hard time figuring out what color line I should start with and what kind of colors should I get.
Right now, I only have my shears, my blending shears, and a few combs and things that I got when I was going to hair school. Do any stylists have any tips for me?
That’s odd that you have to supply your own color… Anyways, Wella, or Clairol Professional Hair Color if you want to go cheaper.
Get some good brushes if you don’t already have them (you said you have combs, but not brushes)
Invest in a good hairdryer, flat iron and marcel curling irons, if you didn’t already get those in cosmetology school. I recommend Babyliss hair dryer, GHD iron, and just good old Hot Tools curling irons.
And you will need products for sure! Hair sprays, leave in conditioner, mousse, gel, etc…It all depends on what you like. Most salons will supply you though…
