AP exam review books…?
I was wondering how often new review books are released for AP exams. Would it be stupid to order a previous edition of a book (probably a Barron’s) right now so I could start studying as early as possible? I’m just not sure when or if new books are published every year…but it would make sense because exams are modified every year.
Last year I put studying off for way too long, and I’d like to be better prepared. I’m intending on taking the Calc BC test, even though I’m only in AB, so it’s vital to buy a book early on. But how long should I wait (if I should wait) for a new version? Will it even matter in the end? I’m assuming the content is always about the same.
I’m planning on buying review books for the following AP courses:
Statistics
Calculus BC
Art History
So, for which subjects should it be okay to purchase an older version of a review book, and for which should I wait?
I don’t know about other books, but I’m guessing they’re all pretty much the same; Princeton books are re-released every year, and there really is no difference in the different year editions. However, sometimes the AP writers will decide to change the test format or something on it, but this only happens like a few times per decade (if that). Your teacher should know if something like this happens.
The other reason they publish new books every year is sometimes past years’ have questions that are written poorly, or have wrong answers or typos.
I like buying the older books because it’s the same thing for cheaper. Amazon usually has pretty good deals.
